What Pixen does

Read your mail

Pixen shows the messages in your Google mailbox, organised into Inbox, Unread, Starred, Sent, Drafts, All mail, Spam, and Trash.

Search your mail

Search every message using Gmail search syntax, including from:, subject:, has:attachment, and newer_than:7d.

Open threads and attachments

Open a full conversation, read each message in the thread, and download any files that were attached to it.

Why Pixen requests access to your Google account

When you sign in, Google asks you to approve the permissions below. Pixen requests only these, and uses them only to show you your own mail inside this application.

Pixen is a mail reader, so it must read the contents of your mailbox in order to display your messages, threads, and attachments to you on screen. This scope is read-only: it grants no ability to send, reply, delete, archive, or label anything.

Your name and email address

openid, userinfo.email, userinfo.profile

Used to identify which account is signed in, to show your name and address in the interface, and to keep your session attached to the correct mailbox. Nothing else is read from your Google profile.

How your data is handled

Read-only

Nothing in your mailbox can be sent, deleted, or altered by this application.

No copies are kept

Messages are requested from Google as you view them and are never written to a database or disk. The only thing stored is an encrypted, http-only session cookie in your own browser.

Never shared or sold

Your Google data is not transferred to third parties, not used for advertising, and never used to train artificial intelligence models. Signing out revokes the token with Google.

Pixen's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
